Vespa, my first love!?

by Chris
(Vienna, Austria)

Just recently I returned to England and bought back my first ever Vespa that I rode, a 1967 Vespa SS180 way back in '79
My friend owned the scooter from 1979 until he sold it to me in 1990 where I set about restoring it back to original.
In 1992-3 I won many trophies and due to kids/family commitements sold it in 1995 to another friend, something I really regretted and asked him for many years if he ever sold it I would buy it back from him. Well as luck would have it I had the chance last September and now it lives with me once again after all these years!
Along with my first love I have restored many Vespa's over the years including Sportique,Rally's,T5 and many P2's
Im currently restoring the SS180 as it needs a face lift and a change of colour.
I work as Vespa mechanic here in Vienna, Austria!
Look forward to contributing and receiving help from your site, so far so good, keep up the good work!

Hi Chris!

Indeed what a story! I Understand you're been taken by the virus since a long time too! Your story is one that we all would like to tell :) Good for you you got your SS back! Amazing... When I hear stories like that I start to think it would be nice that visitors could post their Vespa restorations here too...
The site is just starting, so the content is updated every day. Whenever I have a minute I continue posting on my restorations too. I would love to build a huge T&T database where evrybody could make use of.
Thanks for sharing this with us!

Greets Tom
und a guten rutsch ! ;-)
